On July 15th, 2020. The Markham African Caribbean Canadian Association hosted an Anti- Black Racism Roundtable which brought together 48 of York Region’s most influential stakeholders to discuss the deep rooted impact of anti Black racism and white supremacy in the refion of York and beyond. We asserted the following evidence based CALLS TO ACTION which we believe would bring about significant change and build community trust and cohesion. These calls to action specifically align with recommendations made by the Parliamentary Black Caucus in June 2020.  We are working collaboratively with system leaders to bridge gaps and cultivate meaningful reform.  MACCA has been working for decades to empower Black children and families and strengthen communities ties.
